Half way between Ottawa and Montreal? To those living in Ottawa, Montabello is half way to Montreal. To Montreallers, Montebello is one and a half times the distance to Ottawa.

Entry to the site was through awesome log gates up to the awesome log cabin hotel, (the World's largest log building). The trail was set on the grounds of the Chateau, and crossed sections of the golf course, mountain-bike trails and ski hill. The security staff, who were not informed by the Chateau Recreation Director, were out erasing the markings faster than they had been laid down. Still! few hounds got lost, except maybe on Highway 148 that joins Hawksbury to Montabello along the North shore of the Ottawa River.

Beer check at the ski lift included Champagne and Shrimp, -- a Bobbitt (ANON) specialty.

A dozen Montreal HHH hounds were joined by a dozen from the Ottawa HHH. Together the motley group was sophistocated enough to meet in the main bar of the Chateau. Hash-Master Dead Animal handed out down-downs to the hare, Ottawa HHH visitors, virgins Yardly and Crowe, and to Fat Ass Dom of the OHHH, for tramping crops. The golf course greens, in November, were in fragile condition and thus counted as out-of-bounds crops.
